Weekly Warm-Ups: 6-10 March 2017

Monday/Tuesday

"My favorite thing to do on rainy days is staying inside and being productive, especially when I have completed my academic duties and can use sounds of rain within music, which seems interesting but not urgent.
Everyone believes they will achieve those dreams, not taking personal changes into account, which are not only possible but, in some form, inevitable."

(This reminds me of something Spectrum Pulse said recently, in regards to __)

Wednesday/Thursday:

"Ideas will be forgotten, so they are recorded -- yet those records will vanish, albeit more gradually.
Categories are generations that cannot accurately describe everything it regards"
well not all categories are poorly defined
I was excluded, but in my desire to be included and inclusive, I may neglect(?) and be harmful despite my best intentions.
Superior versions of ideas are often realized after time has already finished.
Almost nothing is inherent. People brag about non-conformity to feel special and, oddly enough, sometime to conform and assimilate with those who are interesting.
People try too hard to be interesting and end up being hypocritical when they complain about other's normality yet are not as unique as they pretend to be."

Friday:

"One person can save themselves, but at best they can assist and at worst they can drive another person to die rather than recover. I recently learned that my friend/acquaintance could kill herself due to various factors -- even though they are being somewhat irritating to our mutual friend and played victim, I worry they will be . . . and our knowledge of each other only began recently. "What was your shortest friendship?" would be great conversation prompt. On topic of assistance, guardians of those I know are quite ineffective at caring for their children due to lack of established rules and [in]ability to discipline -- at its worst, this makes one partly malicious.

(inspired by: "Save Your Generation" by Jawbreakers/newfound acquaintance/ineffectiveness of my guardian)"

For clarification, my teacher did not really read our warm-ups, as it was more about whether or not we wrote, and this person was not in my class.

"21 Underage Questions" Backstory

In early 2017, I had recently heard "21 Questions" by Waterparks after tuning in to some guest DJ and checking out their music. I was also listening to Top 20 Country Charts.
Eventually, when I was humming "21 Questions", I forgot its chorus and thought of some other melody line. On 8 Feb 2017, I realized that it was "Underage" by Kelsea Ballerini.

I finally got around to arranging it in July 2018, just in time for 1-year anniversary (11 August) of official music video for "21 Questions". However, that release date never happened, as those demos were worse and my perfectionism kicked in.

In my first day of class later that week, we did some activity where someone said that 11 August was relevant to him, and it reminded me of my recent minor "failure" to make (unoriginal) music.

Later on, I became closer friends with this person, but one awkward misunderstanding made him ignore me over break, which I did not quite pick up on. I was also stressed about what to get my friends for "Christmas" break, or rather our winter holiday, due to my aforementioned perfectionism.

We returned to school by 8 Jan, and he confronted me about supposed gossip, which is when I realized his misinterpretation of my description.

This is what I said when sending him this.

I actually wanted to try to make my recording decent so that it could serve for "gift" purposes (even though this perfectionism made me unable to send it during holiday season), but I gave up today, as I have been sick for these last few days, and I am only sending this to you, so I have no reason to reach for publishable standards.

I also sent it to one of my more musically talented friends on 30 January, three months after my first-promised date: 30 October, two years after official audio was released to YouTube.

They both liked it, with slight critiques from latter kid, but overall, it was favorable. Maybe not favorable enough to publicize, but that might change.

I chose 8 August 2019 (barely scraping by in most time zones).
- 2.5 years after this idea
- 1 year after arrangement was finished
- 7 months after I sent demos to my two wonderful friends

Also, that "R. Kelly" line in "Underage" is so much more awkward now that scandals have blown up after so many years, am I right?
