Spring 2022 V30 Community Ranking for Mikeramp72!

 Great 5/5

  1. SZA - I Hate U

Good 4/5

  1. Cody Johnson - ‘Til You Can’t

    1. It’s a nice solid country song that doesn’t rely on any cliched tropes and just conveys a sentiment effectively and with an appropriate amount of conviction.

  2. Encanto Cast - We Don’t Talk About Bruno

  3. Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow - INDUSTRY BABY

  4. Lil Durk - AHHH HA

  5. Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz - What Else Can I Do?

    1. I’m disregarding any in-movie context because I don’t have streaming services and haven’t tried to pirate it. In all honesty, I only watch movies with friends these days.

  6. Tate McRae - she’s all i wanna be

    1. The singing voice takes it down, but it’s good!

  7. Drake, 21 Savage, Project Pat - Knife Talk

    1. It’s a little long for the pace it goes at, and I’m an impatient little boy.

  8. Lil Nas X - THATS WHAT I WANT

  9. Muni Long - Hrs and Hrs

    1. I might want to put this in the great tier, but I have to reassess the others first.

  10. Adele - Easy On Me

  11. Doja Cat - Woman

  12. Justin Bieber - Ghost

  13. Doja Cat - Need To Know

  14. Glass Animals - Heat Waves

  15. Encanto Cast - The Family Madrigal

    1. Someone keeps over-enunciating in a way that’s really distracting, LOL. That’s why it isn’t higher, but I thought it deserved to be in the good tier nonetheless.

  16. Becky G, KAROL G - MAMII

  17. Gunna - Banking On Me

  18. Ed Sheeran - Shivers

Decent 3/5

  1. Elton John, Dua Lipa, PNAU - Cold Heart - PNAU remix

  2. Gunna, Future, Young Thug - pushin P

    1. “Three Ps, pop porn” - Young Thug /nsrs

  3. Imagine Dragons, JID - Enemy

    1. I like the production less now that I’m hearing it with earbuds rather than from a store speaker in the distance. JID’s verse is pretty decent, though the transition out is jarring.

  4. Dove Cameron - Boyfriend

    1. Is it a funny comparison to say this song is like a middle ground between Enemy and abcdefu? I initially expected it to be a 2/5, but it got better.

  5. The Kid LAROI, Justin Bieber - STAY

    1. Get triggered, libshart. (I’m referring to myself.)
This would be an ideal place to tease a song I haven’t finished writing, but I don’t have any real hints to drop.

  6. GAYLE - abcdefu

  7. Lil Durk, Morgan Wallen - Broadway Girls

    1. Lil Durk’s performance is solid. I don’t hate all of Wallen’s performance, but parts of it do make the song significantly worse. The chorus is pretty catchy, I’ll give it that.

    2. On my second listen through this playlist, I think I like this song more, but I’m not sure if I can justify putting it higher than the other songs.

Meh 2/5

Both of the next two songs ended up growing on me when I heard them in a car, so they'd probably be rated at 3/5 for me now.

  1. Kodak Black - Super Gremlin

    1. I do not like this sample of children’s voices or the chorus. I like the beat and the verses. His voice is pretty decent here.

  2. Jack Harlow - Nail Tech (relisten to position)

    1. This is more boring than I expected.

  3. Jessica Darrow - Surface Pressure

    1. Why does she enunciate like that?

Bad 1/5

  1. Lil Shordie Scott - Rocking A Cardigan In Atlanta

    1. With the loud and repetitive piano motif and annoying voice, this is not for me.

Terrible 0/5

N/A, I wasn’t feeling harsh.

CRASH by Charli XCX Rankdown -- done on 8 April

1) Constant Repeat
- I want to be like the energy this song has. I've been in that weird mood lately. I'm likely overrating it, but screw it. This should have more blatantly interpolated the "Who Can It Be Now?" riff [/hj].

2) Every Rule
- sounds wonderful, fits the sentiment.

3) Baby
- I like the recurring string riff and the pulsing synth. This is a very sexy song. Speaking of sex, I can't wait for my current bout of horniness to go away for many weeks.

4) Lightning
- I like the edgy fuzz of this. The vocoder section hurts my ears but it still sounds nice. The stuttering on this track is better than the stuttering on Crash.

5) Beg For You (feat. Rina Sawayama)

6) Good Ones
- The main instrumental motif is very sticky in a good way. I admit it's repetitive, but that doesn't hold it back in my mind.

7) Yuck
- Catchy, enough energy for the sentiment.

8) Twice
- This is really good.

9) Move Me
- If I were to redo this ranking, this would probably be the bottom song. It's kind of dull.

10) Crash
- has a catchy main melody and decent production. The outro is underwhelming.

11) Used To Know Me
- It's this sample, hahaha.

12) New Shapes (feat. Christine and the Queens and Caroline Polachek)
- Also good, but more boring than the previous. I love Caroline's voice, and I think the latter part of Christine and the Queens' portion is good, but the song doesn't have so much movement.
